    Glass Science & Technology Consultant

    1) Glass Science & Technology Consultant
    MinoTech Engineering Inc. is a science and engineering consulting firm with offices in Charlton Massachusetts. We seek individuals with broad experience in glass science, fiber optics, and photonics, with expertise in the following:

    • Glass fabrication techniques: glass melting, composition development, drawing, and sealing, chemical etching, with specific knowledge of the manufacture of optical fibers for telecommunication, fused fiber optics, and other applications.
       
    • Glass-to-glass, and glass-to-metal sealing techniques: Development of various glass sealing frits, mixing with solvent and binder, application and firing to form hermetic, bubble free glass-to-glass seals. Application of low melting metal alloys to form hermetic seals.
       
    • Thin film coatings: on glass for optical and electronic applications, by atomic layer deposition, sputtering, reactive ion plating and other advanced deposition techniques.
       
    • Optical Modeling and Analysis: Testing and characterization of glass products including MTF, Edge Response, PBG Analysis, Optical transmission, reflectance, NA, X-ray attenuation, Glass color centers, X-ray browning of glass, etc.
       
    • Product Knowledge & Expertise: Including fused fiber optics, X-ray blocking optics, sensors & photo-detectors, MCP’s, Night vision products, etc.

This position will be attractive to individuals willing and able to work on a flexible schedule, part time to full time, depending project availability.

Project management and quality control are included in our fees. There is no additional cost to the client for this service. Depending on the complexity of the project other MinoTech Engineering Consultants can be called upon drawn from our pool of Registered Technical Experts.

MinoTech Registered Experts are called upon to become MinoTech Engineering Consultant's when an appropriate assignment develops that requires their expertise. MinoTech Engineering Consultants undergo a stringent quality evaluation and must meet our high standards for demonstrated expertise, work quality and ethics. They complete an application form, and are bound by confidentiality, non-disclosure, and non-compete contracts insuring that our clients proprietary information is handled appropriately.
